PLUTO IN AQUARIUS from 21/01/24

Pluto is the slowest planet of those considered by astrology and which we find in the circle of the zodiac: it takes about 248 years to complete a complete revolution! It was long considered the ninth planet of our solar system, until it was reclassified as a dwarf planet by the International Astronomical Union in 2006. Its eccentric location and vast orbit around the Sun contribute to its aura of mystery. Despite having been downgraded in astronomy, astrologers continue to consider it fundamental in the study of celestial influences. Its discovery took place in February 1930. Pluto has an orbital speed that varies greatly depending on its distance or proximity to the Sun, so that sometimes it remains in a sign for about ten years, sometimes much more, even up to thirty. Based on the period in which it was discovered and the mythological analogy of the name given to it, some important meanings relating to this planet can be deduced. The period of the 1930s saw the development of psychoanalysis, for which one of the meanings is linked to profound internal transformation and long-term awareness work. It lies beyond Neptune and its irregular orbit, along with its size and remoteness, often symbolizes transformative power, regeneration and depth. Pluto is the planet of power, seduction, manipulation, audacity, eros, the unconscious, determination, fears. It has to do with our primal energies, with our depths. It is a planet that is not afraid of anything and enhances the characteristics of the sign it enters, but precisely because of its peculiarities it also has to do with politics. Another meaning of Pluto is related to the sense of power. If the outcome is positive it gives charisma and that sense of personal, internal strength. If the implication is negative then it becomes a manipulative and destructive energy. Pluto was in ancient times the god of the underworld so he is also connected to the occult, death and rebirth, the transformative capacity. It is wealth, material well-being as the subsoil is rich in minerals. They are the secret things. They are the unconscious and sexual drives. Pluto embodies unconscious forces. Plutonian government includes repression and domination by others, even on a sexual level, which can only be recovered by deep internal healing work. Pluto also represents the relationship with death, the sense of loss, the struggle with our demons, our fears, our attachments. The descent into ourselves is often painful, we experience darkness and emptiness but then we return to the light and the doors of knowledge and wisdom open. In astrology, Pluto is associated with forces of transformation, power, destruction and rebirth. It embodies the dark and profound energies of our subconscious, bringing to light what has been hidden or repressed. Its influence can lead to profound personal revolutions, radical changes and renewals that reveal the true essence of things. It is a very concentrated energy and can be both highly creative as well as destructive. It is an energy of profound renewal where old models must be overcome and eliminated. Sometimes this process can be very painful since these patterns have to do with our fears and our karma, with our securities (fear of loss and abandonment). Pluto has its domicile in Scorpio. With Scorpio we find ourselves in the heart of autumn when the insistent rains macerate the leaves and nature seems to enter a phase of stagnation, in reality, hiding in the depths, future germination. The scorpion waters are the silent and poisonous ones of the ponds and swamps where the animal of which the sign is a symbol can be perfectly hidden. They are waters that hide deep instincts, shadowy secrets, turbulent emotions. Scorpio faces life with courage and determination, lives every experience with dramatic intensity, always striving for extremes. No one like him, among the other signs of the zodiac, is capable of profound transformations, of real regenerations. He can fall into the infernal abyss of life and emotions but he can soar towards the highest peaks. The fact that it takes him approximately 248 Earth years to complete one orbit around the Sun means that he spends approximately 20 years in each Zodiac Sign. Since 2008 he has been in transit in the Sign of Capricorn and on 21 January 2024 he finally enters the Sign of Aquarius.

Pluto's entry into the sign of Aquarius is important both from the point of view of the normal passage of slow planets from one zodiac sign to another, and because it accelerates the developments of the Aquarius era, which we are entering with fluctuating pace, since the 1960s. Aquarius is also the sign of the Internet, science fiction, new technologies. Some are already in the field, such as the macroscopic diffusion of artificial intelligence. After 15 years of Pluto in the sign of Capricorn, which led to the exasperation of the values of ambition, power, the strong and determined ego, Pluto in Aquarius opens up to change, innovation, collaboration, without losing individual individuals. Where Pluto in Capricorn was more traditional, even in terms of objectives and social figures, Pluto in Aquarius will be decidedly more open, free, broad-minded.  The transit of Pluto in the Sign of Aquarius promises to be a period in which transformative and revolutionary forces converge with technological and social innovation. Aquarius, a zodiac sign known for its progressive mentality and desire for social change, marries the powerful influence of Pluto to bring revolutionary changes. This period can witness radical changes in social structures, collective ideologies and human dynamics. Significant progress is expected in using technology for the common good, but ethical and resource control issues may also emerge. The impact of this transit will be different for each Zodiac Sign and we can discover which will be the main symbols that will be awakened for each one. Pluto makes itself felt on individuals but only if it creates an important aspect with one of our personal radix planets: it is always a transit of great revolution. Pluto will therefore be against those born in the first three days of Taurus (from 20 to 23 April), Leo (from 22 to 25 July) and Scorpio (from 22 to 25 October). Instead, it will be in favor of those born in the first 3 days of Gemini (from 21 to 24 May) and Libra (from 23 to 26 September). Those born between January 20th and 23rd will have to face a profound but innovative change. In the age of Aquarius, technological innovation will amplify, everything that has to do with the web, the metaverse and interactions through it, the fights for civil rights and freedoms for all, the importance of the space left to individuals in their expression, sharing and the group also a more intimate spirituality, with our self at the center. Even the conquest of space will have fewer and fewer borders. Obviously Pluto in Aquarius also has its shadow sides which can be glimpsed both immediately and throughout this astrological era. Let's talk for example about the excess importance and space given to machines compared to humans, about the possibility of losing an important part of human relationships, about speed too often used as the only possible time. Obviously we will have to pay attention to all these aspects.  On 21 January 2024 Pluto entered Aquarius, although it will take a temporary step back in the sign of Capricorn from 1 September to 19 November, to then definitively re-enter Aquarius in November, where it will slowly travel through the entire sign until 19 January 2044, when it passes into Pisces. Its transit, lasting twenty years, during 2024 will only affect those born in the first three days of the sign then, slowly, it will slowly affect all the other natives of Aquarius and will thus positively influence the sign of Aries, the Gemini, Libra and Sagittarius, while it will cause some annoyance to those born in Taurus, Leo and Scorpio. What can we expect? Certainly a strong boost to technology, with particular reference to measures aimed at encouraging energy saving and the use of renewable energy sources. The risk of an increase in phishing and computer scams will be quite high, but the operational means to combat them will also be strengthened. An increase in diplomatic capabilities, mutual tolerance and respect for human and civil rights is desirable.
